From an economic perspective, Germany ranks at the top of the list of European countries and that's not news to anyone. Unsurprisingly, a segment of the German economy, currently experiencing a steady growth is the property market. Last year some 23.3 billion euros in residential property portfolios and large residential complexes changed hands in Germany - almost three quarters more than in 2014. Throughout the last 5 years property prices in the country have increased 5.6% a year which is double the average annual rate of increase since 1970. Prices in major urban areas such as Berlin and Frankfurt rose 14.5% in 2015, while rent prices surged 3.7%.
