An opportunity to get involved!


The Council has set up a group involving officers from across council departments to investigate the impact of the proposed changes on Nottinghams citizens and the Council.

The group are looking to hold two focus groups to help identify the impacts on citizens of the Governments proposed changes to welfare and benefits announced in the Summer Budget. This includes changes to tax credits, housing benefit, the National Living Wage and social housing rents.

The group want to talk Nottingham citizens between the ages of 18-60 with one or more of the following household/income circumstances:

         those who have 2 or more children living in either social housing or in private rented accommodation

         those with tax credits as part of their household income (single parent or two parent families)

         those who are currently unemployed (not retired)

         those aged 18-25 who are jobseekers, in education or training

As part of the discussion, the group will be asking you to think about how your household would be impacted if the proposed changes were introduced.

If you would like to be involved in these discussions you will need to be available to attend one of the following discussion groups:

As a thank you for taking part, those who participate will receive a 15 Victoria Shopping Centre Voucher. We will also provide Kangaroo travel cards to cover your travel expenses to attend, if required. Refreshments will also be provided.
