At the beginning of July, the Government delivered the Summer Budget which proposed changes to welfare and benefits including tax credits, housing benefit, the National Living Wage and social housing rents.

Nottingham City Council has set up a group which brings together officers from across council departments to investigate the impact of the proposed changes on Nottinghams citizens and the Council.

The group are looking to hold two focus groups to help identify the predicted impacts on citizens.

Money

The group want to talk Nottingham citizens between the ages of 18-60 with one or more of the following household/income circumstances:

  • those who have 2 or more children living in either social housing or in private rented accommodation
  • those with tax credits as part of their household income (single parent or two parent families)
  • those who are currently unemployed (not retired)
  • those aged 18-25 who are jobseekers, in education or training

During the focus group you will be given further information about the proposed changes and then as part of the discussion, you will be asked to think about what the impact would be on your household if those changes were introduced.
