To observe and record traffic (contraventions) using CCTV and other electronic equipment.

To deal with a wide range of issues relating to traffic management, traffic regulation orders and legislation covering enforcement of both movement and static restrictions.

To work on own initiative in organising and prioritising workload to meet specific targets and deadlines.

To work effectively as part of a team.

To produce and present supporting evidence at appeal hearings in relation to Civil Enforcement Contraventions in accordance with legislation.

Carry out audits of equipment and on street infrastructure ensuring restrictions remain enforceable.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Experience of relevant ITC applications including word processing, spreadsheets and databases.

2. To effectively deal with a variety of enquiries or complaints received by telephone, letter, email or in person from Elected Members, the general public or other organisations.

3. Experience of data collection and dissemination via electronic means.

4. To make own decisions when appropriate.

Nottingham City Council has 3 exciting opportunities to join their in-house tree team.

Trees services delivers services across a wide range of clients including highways housing and parks on a one stop basis. It also has contracts with private companies and other local authorities to provide tree services.

The posts will provide full operational delivery of the arboricultural service.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

- To be fully certificated and have thorough knowledge and experience of arboriculture practices e.g. felling / pruning in urban environments, including safe climbing and use of platform equipment.

- Thorough knowledge of health and safety relevant to arboriculture, including working at heights with a range of power and hand tools and operational knowledge of highway safety legislation (Chapter 8).

- Ability to communicate courteously and clearly with a wide range of people, including members of the public in potentially difficult situations.

- Experience of and ability to work as part of a team and also alone, safely with minimal supervision.

Will be required to participate in an on call rota when needed.

Up to £30,237 (Grade F £23,698 - £26, 293 plus 15% market supplement, which will be reviewed annually)

Trees services delivers services across a wide range of clients including highways housing and parks on a one stop basis. It also has contracts with private companies and other local authorities to provide tree services.

Working as part of a team you will ensure that a full range of arboricultural management and operational services is provided throughout the City through both in house operational teams and external business partners. Your role will include carrying out inspections of Council owned trees, assess condition, diagnose any disorders, pests or diseases affecting. Organise and implement necessary work. The role will involve liaising with councillors and the community and will require an advanced level of written and verbal communication skills.

Will be required to participate in an on call rota when needed.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

- The ability to work on own initiative and as part of team.

- Clear thinking, analytical mind and effective verbal and written communication skills.

- Self- motivated and proactive approach to problem solving and providing innovative solutions.

- Have a proven successful background in management of large scale tree stock spread over numerous sites, preferably supported by relevant qualifications and professional accreditation.

Nottingham City Council has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Tree Services Manager to join its awarding winning Parks and Open Spaces service.

Up to £39,958 (Grade H £30,978 - £34,746 plus 15% market supplement, which will be reviewed annually)

Trees services delivers services across a wide range of clients including highways housing and parks on a one stop basis. It also has contracts with private companies and other local authorities to provide tree services.

Tree services are responsible for the management and maintenance of the Council’s trees and woods. They also provide professional advice to other departments, promoting Council’s policies as they relate to trees and woodland.

You will be an expert with experience and understanding of a relatively discrete service area, able to guide others in best practice of the subject area.

As manager the post will be responsible for developing a strong and reliable citizen focused service responding to enquiries and casework in an effective manner.

The individual possesses a project management skill set to ensure that work is completed to a high standard and within relevant timescales and to cost, allocating the most appropriate individuals to fulfil roles either through the in-house team or contracting partners

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

- Commitment to providing high standards of customer service, responding to service requests and complaints in an appropriate manner both verbally and in writing.

-Undertake contract, budget and financial management control for the annual cyclical programme works and special projects.

- Ability to negotiate appropriate solutions with partners and other key stakeholders, particularly at senior, political and professional levels.

- Day to day management of the technical and operational teams and management of project teams in liaison with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Will be required to participate in an on call rota when needed.
