Households in Nottingham City who havent responded to forms and reminders asking to confirm who is eligible to vote will soon get a visit from Elections Office canvassers.
From 17 October to 15 November, canvassers will be calling at these homes to try to establish who needs to be included on the Electoral Register.
If you still havent responded call Electoral Services NOW on 0115 8764111 to confirm your information and avoid this personal visit.
A Household Enquiry Form was sent out to all properties in Nottingham City asking for this information in August and then reminders in September. It is a legal requirement for Nottingham City Council to update the register each year and for residents to respond to this form.
Those who dont respond
- could risk a fine
- may be delayed or denied access to some council services (where a residency check is required)
- wont be able to vote
- may have problems getting credit
- may miss out on their tenants reward payment (NCH tenants only)
You can also respond to your form, online, by phone or text message (details on your form).
If you are a new resident and need to register for your address for the first time then its easy to register online, visit www.gov.uk/registertovote .
You will still need to respond to your Household Enquiry Form even if you register online.
