Fixed Term for 12 months

The post-holder will be responsible for the strategic development and leadership of medicines management for Local Authority Public Health substance misuse and sexual health commissioned services. They will advise on, ensure and uphold the organisation’s associated clinical governance arrangements. They will also develop, monitor and promote clinical governance procedures in community pharmacy and prescribing associated with Public Health commissioned services. Applicants need to have experience of all aspects of medicines management and prescribing and have been registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council for a minimum of three years. They require a good understanding of the commissioning process and a high level of understanding of clinical governance issues associated with community pharmacy and prescribing.


A Master’s degree in Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree (or equivalent training).

Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council for a minimum of three years.

Experience of all aspects of prescribing and medicines management.

High level of understanding of the clinical governance issues relating to community pharmacy and prescribing associated with substance misuse, sexual health and alcohol services.

One Full Time Call Handler/Admin post in Children and families Duty team. The teams provide the first line of support for serious safeguarding issues in safeguarding children across Nottingham city.

The post holder will possibly be the first point of contact for citizens and partner agencies making Children’s referrals. The post is permanent to provide effective delivery of appropriate services in safeguarding vulnerable children and their families according to their assessed needs. The post provides the successful candidates an interesting and very important role in safeguarding vulnerable children using liaisons with partner agencies & provider organizations whilst maintaining accurate & secure records & user information using IT systems in accordance with the Data Protection Act & having regard to the confidential nature of the work


1. Operating a Macfarlane call handling system sign posting calls or checking databases whilst inputting and extracting accurate information on to message board in our Care first system. Typing and Administrate duties a must along with Diary management micro soft office photocopying scanning post handling and filing.

2. To liaise and communicate with other sections of the department and external agencies in connection with post holders work and administrative needs of the service.

3. To provide audio and copy typing word processing Excel Access and PowerPoint along with bespoke packages for the provision of statistical information and other reports.

Fixed Term up to 12 months maternity cover

To ensure the delivery of appropriate services to disabled children and their families, according to their assessed needs. This will include assessing the needs of disabled children and their families against the Departments agreed threshold criteria and in accordance with National Guidance with set timescales, the creation and implementation of culturally appropriate care plans that demonstrate flexibility and innovative use of resources. To lead on safeguarding investigations in the most complex cases and where there are multiple incidents.

To take part in team duty systems providing an immediate and responsive service as the need arises in emergency work. To represent the Authority in court routinely, providing reports and acting as the lead witness and providing support to less experienced colleagues and witnesses as required.


Direct experience as fieldwork practitioner in a child care setting.
Understanding of the Department’s responsibilities to disabled children who are looked after and/or on the child Protection register. Understanding of the reasons why successful partnership working is critical to good outcomes for disabled children. Ability to take initiative when immediate action is needed.
