Nottingham is on a journey to become the UKs greenest transport city.

Massive recent investment in environmentally-friendly transport services, including trams, greener buses and cycling, is set to be built on in the coming years.

Ambitious for a low emission transport future

Nottingham City Council is driving the way towards a low carbon, sustainable transport future.

The City Council is awaiting the verdict of the Governments Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) to its bid for a 8.5m to help develop electric car charging infrastructure and other measures to promote a low carbon transport area in the city centre. The announcement is due later in November 2015.

New City Car Club car at Bulwell Riverside

Nottingham City Council is developing its integrated transport network by increasing its existing City Car Club fleet from eight to 12 vehicles.

Bulwell Riverside Joint Service Centre is the latest site to be launched and will be available to staff at the service centre as well as city residents.

Keeping Nottingham moving this winter

With winter on its way, the Winter Service Team at Nottingham City Council is making its final preparations for colder weather.

Three thousand tonnes of salt have been delivered and 200 neighbourhood grits bin are fully stocked.

There are five main grit routes in the city which cover 276 miles of Nottinghams 500 miles of roads. The team is ready to go when the road temperature reaches freezing.
