Fixed Term for 9 months

Organisational Transformation (OT) are seeking to recruit to a Business Operations Team Manager role on a fixed term basis for 9 months. We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking individual who will manage the operational business functions across the OT services. The post holder will be responsible for managing the analytics capability within OT to improve business performance and enable OT to make ‘analytics informed’ decisions and will also oversee the provision of an efficient, effective Job Evaluation and post creation service for the Council. You will also manage the Business Support function for the whole of OT, ensuring that the whole business receives a quality service, enabling the service to be as fully supported.

We want candidates who have proven leadership experience and exceptional communication skills. You must have the ability to analyse complex information to see emerging patterns and trends and further be able to interpret this data in a meaningful way that can be conveyed to the organisations leaders to help inform strategic decision making. Experience of business analysis and process improvement, monitoring, reviewing and evaluating alongside problem solving abilities are all key skills we are interested in.


 - Experience of effectively managing a diverse team including talent management and the performance of individuals and teams.

 - Experience of designing and implementing systems and processes which adhere to good practice and are auditable.

 - Ability to shape services to address corporate priorities and customer needs.

 - Ability and experience of writing complex reports and clear written communication / briefings that effectively conveys complex information to a range of audiences

Fixed Term until 31 January 2017 (Maternity Cover)

You will have lead responsibility for the development of strategy and policy relating to the employment and skills in Nottingham, advising lead councillors and senior management. Through strategic partnership development, you will be responsible for influencing funding decisions and ensuring alignment across the D2N2 area.

You will work closely with partners to develop strategies that ensure that the local labour market meets the needs of the Nottingham economy, particularly within priority sectors. Managing the employment and skills strategy team, you will also be responsible for the commissioning and delivery of key policy areas such as raising employability skills and graduate retention.


1. Knowledge of employment and skills related interventions and structures and the funding models associated with them.

2. Ability to develop and lead direct service provision for measurable impact on the City

3. Experience of research, analysis and policy making in economic development preferably in an employment and skills context.

4. Evidence of leading strategy development and implementing strategic responses within a partnership context.
