Today's Forecast

Windy and mild with some patchy rain at first, this rain becoming more persistent and heavier by mid to late afternoon. Winds will ease a little through the evening and the rain will gradually peter out by about 2300hrs. A cooler airstream will follow with clearer skies. However, a few showers are likely too. The southwesterly breeze will pick up again through Thursday morning bringing further mostly light showers, although some good sunny spells developing too by midday.

Outlook for the next four days (forecasts run from midday to midday)
Thursday

After a dry and bright start to Thursday afternoon a band of showers, locally heavy and with a risk of hail will quickly move eastwards across the area, with good sunny spells following. Overnight it will be largely dry and clear with light winds. RSTs are expected to fall close to or just below freezing, bringing a risk of ice and hoar frost. Friday morning will remain dry, but it will become cloudier and breezier towards midday.

Friday

Friday afternoon will be dry with some hazy sunshine. Mostly clear skies early in the evening will allow RSTs to fall close to freezing before cloud and winds increase later in the night. Similar on Saturday morning but becoming windy across all parts.

Saturday

and

Sunday

Cloudy and windy with some rain during Saturday afternoon. It should become drier overnight with winds easing, allowing some clearer spells to develop. Confidence in the detail of rainfall, cloud amounts and therefore for RSTs at this stage is low however. Turning cloudy and windy again on Sunday morning with heavy rain spreading northeastwards. This easing overnight with clear spells and showers following. Remaining showery on Monday morning.
