Today's Forecast

Dry and bright at first, but a band of rain, heavy in places, will move eastwards over the area from 1500. The rain will clear to the east by 1700, with a chance of one or two showers following until 2100. The rest of the night will be dry and generally clear, leading to RSTs widely falling below freezing and bringing a risk of hoar frost and ice. Friday morning will stay dry but it will become cloudier by midday. Minimum RSTs minus 2.

Outlook for the next four days (forecasts run from midday to midday)

Friday afternoon will be dry with some hazy sunshine. Through the evening, cloud and winds will increase, accompanied by some rain. These cloudy, wet and windy conditions will persist overnight and through Saturday morning.

Continuing cloudy, wet and windy. It should become drier overnight with winds easing, allowing some clearer spells to develop however, confidence in the detail of rainfall, cloud amounts and therefore for RSTs at this stage remains low. Cloudy and windy again on Sunday morning with rain at times. This easing at times.

Winds will increase for a time through Sunday afternoon as a band of heavy rain moves northeastwards across the area through the afternoon. Conditions turning showery with the winds easing when the rain band clears northeastwards through the late evening. The showery conditions will persist through until Tuesday morning with clear spells at times although any confidence in the timings and therefore in the RSTs is low at this stage.
