Today's Forecast

Windy with a band of rain, turning heavy for a short time, moving southeastwards across the region this afternoon. The rain will clear by around 2000 to leave clearer, colder and less windy conditions with a scattering of blustery showers, some of which could be heavy with hail and thunder. Showers will die out later to leave a dry and clear end to the night. RSTs are expected to stay above freezing, despite the late dip in some places. Wednesday morning will be mainly dry, breezy and sunny.

Outlook for the next four days (forecasts run from midday to midday)
Wednesday Wednesday afternoon will be bright and breezy with some decent sunshine. However cloud will build overnight and spells of rain will arrive on Thursday morning, perhaps turning heavy at times, and accompanied by strong winds. RSTs will remain well above freezing.

Rain will soon clear on Thursday afternoon to leave dry conditions with lighter winds. Overnight it will be cold, dry and clear and RSTs are likely to fall close to zero. There will be a cool, dry and bright start to Christmas day.

Heavy rain will arrive on Friday afternoon accompanied by strengthening winds. A cloudy, mild and windy night will follow with further spells of light rain or drizzle. RSTs will stay well above zero.
Another band of heavy rain and strong winds is expected on Saturday afternoon, continuing sporadically overnight. Again it will be mild and RSTs will stay well above freezing.
