Today's Forecast

Dry and bright at first. Cloud will increase later in the day and there is a risk of some light sleet or snow spreading from the northwest from 1800. This should clear away to the southeast by midnight, leaving the rest of the night dry with some mist forming by the morning. RSTs will widely fall below freezing overnight, bringing a high risk of frost, as well as a low risk of ice where sleet or snow has fallen. Sunday morning will then be dry with bright spells developing once mist clears.

Outlook for the next four days (forecasts run from midday to midday)
Sunday Dry, fine and sunny during Sunday. Skies remaining clear overnight into Monday leading to a cold night with RSTs below freezing and a frost forming. Cloudier during Monday morning with perhaps the odd snow shower giving further patchy accumulations in places.

Isolated snow showers likely to continue at times during Monday and overnight into Tuesday - giving further accumulations. Cold too, with RSTs below freezing and perhaps freezing fog patches forming.

Showers easing and tending to die away during Tuesday. Drier on Wednesday with clearer spells, then perhaps a little cloudier overnight into Thursday. Cold both nights with RSTs below freezing.
Note: There is currently low confidence regarding the end of the forecast and how quickly slightly milder conditions are expected to push in from the west. As such details are likely to change, especially in regards to timings, temperatures and snow/sleet/rain mix.

Please Note: The colour code used for the headings for these forecast refer to the weather forecast and not the need to grit.

RED - The weather will cause road surface temperatures (RSTs) to fall or stay below zero.
AMBER - The weather may cause road surface temperatures (RSTs) to fall below zero.
GREEN - The weather will not cause road surface temperatures (RSTs) to fall below zero.
