A dry and mainly sunny afternoon but with variable amounts of cloud at times. Into the overnight period continuing with variable amounts of cloud, but some good breaks could occur, which will allow RSTs to fall and some patchy fog or freezing fog to develop with possible icy patches. There is also a low risk of a very isolated light shower from 0400 onwards. A generally dry start on Friday morning but cold with some freezing fog patches which could be slow to clear.

Outlook for the next four days (forecasts run from midday to midday)

Generally dry on Friday with variable amounts of cloud and some bright spells. There may be a few isolated showers later. Overnight it will become increasingly cloudy with outbreaks of rain by the end of the night. Further rain at times through Saturday morning, this perhaps turning to sleet in places.

Rain and sleet (low risk of snow to low levels for a time) spreading east through the afternoon and clearing through the evening. Fairly cloudy overnight with wintry showers, these turning increasingly to sleet and snow. Then generally dry through Sunday morning.

Mainly dry through the afternoon but cold northeasterly winds will spread sleet and snow showers in through the evening with local accumulations possible . Cold overnight with further sleet and snow showers. Scattered wintry showers of rain, sleet and snow will continue through Monday. Then becoming mainly dry with clear spells overnight.
