New Exhibition at Nottingham Castle from 9 July
Evelyn Gibbs - In Peace and Wartime

A look at the life and work of the British painter Evelyn Gibbs (1905-1991), focusing on a series of etchingsand drawings created after she was evacuated to Nottingham during WWII. The exhibition will also include a feature of the recent restoration of a mural she painted at St. Martins Church in Bilborough, previously thought to have been destroyed in the 1970s. Head to Newstead Abbey for a fun day out, withguided tours of the abbey in poetry, childrens games, craft activities, a detective trail, ukulele music and the launch of a guide to the abbey in poems, entitled Windows and Shadows.
