Free ParkLives activities for all the family this autumn

Buggy fit

It might be getting a bit chillier outside but there are still plenty of free, fun ParkLives activities to enjoy in your local park this autumn and there's no better time of year to enjoy the colour of the trees.

The autumn timetable features yoga - by the lake or on the lake - hula hooping, badminton, buggy fitness, golf and a host of other sessions the whole family can enjoy, plusactivities specifically aimed at older people, women and children. As it's well known that physical activityis good for your mind as well as your body, we've even arranged some special sessions for World Mental Health Day.

Whether you want to continue with a session you've been enjoying over the summer or try something new, there's something for you, so find out more on our website andjoin in withour autumn activities.

Celebrate International Day of Older Persons with ParkLives

Nordic walking

It's International Day of Older Persons on Saturday (1 October), so we've organised some slightly gentler sessionsat four of our venues.

You can 'Get into Golf' at Bulwell Hall Park at 11am or Riverside Golf Centre at 1.30pm, go Nordic walking in Wollaton Park at 12pm or play social badminton on Victoria Embankment at 6.30pm.

Next week is Women's Sport Week

Hula hooping

For Women's Sport Week (3 to 9 October) we've picked a range of daytime and evening activities that we hope will appeal to women and girls.

Yoga and paddleboard yoga are always popular; hula hooping is sure to bring a smile to your face and those up for more of a challenge will enjoy canoe rafting andhigh ropes. Find out more or see what else is on offer at

Feel better with ParkLives


Being active has been proved to make you feel better mentally as well as physically and that's especially true when you're enjoying the great outdoors, so joining a ParkLives session is the perfect way to mark World Mental Health Day on Monday 10 October.

With that 'in mind' we've organised some soothing activities - walking and yoga - a mentally stimulating bushcraft skills session and an exciting canoe rafting and high ropes adventure. Find out more and book your place at

Keep the kids busy during half-term

High ropes

Finally, we've got plenty to keep the kids occupied during the autumn half-term holiday.

Activities start on Tuesday 18 October and run until Sunday 30 October, with most taking place between Monday 24 and Friday 28 October.

Archery, walltennis, high ropesandcanoeing should use up some surplus energy and then the whole family can wind down withlakeside yoga at Highfields Park.
