Family advocacy standards

The Law Society has now received a response from the Ministry of Justice regarding a request from the Bar Council and the Family Law Bar Association for a review of advocacy standards. We are pleased to report that the MoJ shares our view that there is no need for a review of family advocacy standards at the present time.

Housing possession court duty schemes

The LAA has confirmed that it will be extending the Housing Possession Court Duty Scheme contracts and the contract extensions will be issued in mid-October.

Prison law tender applicants to be notified of results

The assessment stage of the LAA's prison law and appeals and reviews tender has been completed, and notification letters will be sent to applicant organisations from 15 September.

Successful applicants should refer to their notification of award letters for information on how to verify their tenders and progress to contract signature. The tender opened on 23 June and closed on 21 July.
