Newport Food Festival.
This years event will welcome new chefs and food producers to the
demo stages in Newport Indoor Market. Chef demos are free, you don't need
to book a ticket, just turn up!
Chefs include Rickie Ash from The Ridgeway Bar and Kitchen, Celtic
Manor Resort chefs Adam Whittle and Simon Crockford and The Ruperra Arms

Mytravelpass- discounted bus fares
Mytravelpass is a pilot scheme funded by the
Welsh Government to give discounted bus travel
to young people aged
16-18 years living in Wales, including young people studying in

Newport City Council is congratulating pupils and staff as they
celebrate this year’s GCSE successes.
The number of pupils in Newport achieving WJEC GCSE A*- A grades
was 18.7 per cent.
Figures for the WJEC examinations show that 60.4 per cent of
entries in Newport achieved
grades A* to C. Overall, 97.9 per cent of WJEC entries in the city were graded between A*
The proportion of Newport pupils achieving a pass at WJEC GCSE is
slightly higher than the Wales average for all exam boards.
