The Admiral Newport Food Festival will yet again be bringing
you the best local chefs, home grown produce and entertainment right in the
heart of Newport city centre on Saturday 3 October.
Our chef demonstration programme is now available to view
Due to unforeseen circumstances our second
demo stage has been moved to the Seren Group foyer (at the top of High
Street) the main demo stage remains in Newport Market. We also have a bonus
Talks, tastes and skills area in the Coleg Gwent training suite in Royal
Chambers building. Sessions include cocktail making, bee-keeping and advice
on food hygiene.

The council's website provides all the latest road works
scheduled for Newport so that residents can plan their journeys

Guards Freedom Parade
On 1 October the Welsh Guards will march in the city
centre as the honorary Freedom of the city is granted to them. The
parade will be led by the Regimental Band.
At 11am on Thursday 1 October, the Welsh Guards will
parade from the top of Cambrian Road to Bridge Street and then through High
Street to the D-Day Memorial.
A short ceremony will take place before the parade again
moves off through High Street and along Commercial Street to its junction
with Charles Street.
On the evening of 30 September, a special rugby match
will take place between Newport RFC and the Welsh Guards at 19:15 at Rodney
Parade Tickets are £5.
50 plus Information Day - Saturday 26 September
The 50 plus Information Day will take place at Newport Centre
Stalls include technology, health, finance, police,
social care, learning, leisure, museum and art gallery, library,
environment, energy efficiency, housing, recycling, mobility aids and
adaptations, will making, funeral services, benefits and pensions,
employment, banking, advocacy, community safety, opticians, podiatry,
volunteering, nutrition and food services, family history and other
