Under a month to go until Friars Walk Opens....

Newport’s brand new retail and leisure complex, Friars Walk, will open on 12th November, bringing top names to the city centre including Debenhams, Next, Topshop, Marks and Spencer, River Island, Mothercare, Nando's, TGI Friday’s, Wagamama, Las Iguanas, Frankie and Benny's and Cineworld.

Newport city centre was brimming over with people enjoying the fifth Admiral Newport Food Festival on Saturday 3rd October . We thought this was the perfect time to find out what visitors to the city liked about Newport, and how they felt about the opening of Friars Walk. This is what they had to say (links to YouTube)

Reception and Junior school admissions

From 1st November you will be able to apply online for Reception and Junior school (Year 3) places for September 2016. Applications are open from 1 November to 8 January 2016 and decisions will be issued on 21 March 2016.

Dementia Friendly Newport

Over 700 people have attended Dementia Friends sessions in Newport to learn a bit about what its like to live with dementia and how to help and turn that understanding into action.

You will recognise a dementia friend by the small blue daisy badge that is awarded after attending a session.

There are more sessions happening now across Newport, register to attend now


Admiral City of Newport Half Marathon

Newport's very own half marathon is back next year on Sunday 6 March.
