Send a lump of coal to the Government
The Government has accepted the Paris Agreement and pledged to phase out coal power stations. Yet it's still allowing vast opencast coal mines to be dug up next door to communities and beauty spots across the UK.
If the Government's serious about ending coal and tackling climate change, it needs to leave fossil fuels in the ground.
Act now and sign our petition to send government a reminder of what dirty coal looks like.
For every signatory we get to our petition, we'll send a lump of coal to the Government. If thousands sign, we'll dump equivalent amounts of coal on the doorstep of the Whitehall departments responsible for coal policy.
Our petition demands that Ministers change the rules on planning in order to leave coal in the ground - by stopping treating it as a so-called 'mineral of national importance'.
A fossil free future is possible. Let's act together to demand the end of the age of fossil fuels and ensure they're left in the ground.

PS Don't worry - all our coal is locally sourced from the UK! And afterwards, we'll be making sure the coal is kept safely stored so that it never gets burned.
