Playdays are back, thanks to the Oxfordshire Play Association and they will be taking place across the county this month. These are always popular, so get them in your diary! More details here.

Creative arts festival Banbury and Bicester

This year's festival showcases works by the area’s most exciting young arts talent in Banbury for a third year. 

'We’re here now' combines exhibitions, workshops, pop-up shops and community initiatives led by art and design students from Banbury and Bicester College.

Electricals Recycling Competition Winner

Well done to top Oxfordshire recycler Rachel, from Witney, who appropriately heard about the competition at a West Oxfordshire District Council roadshow in Witney when she was enquiring about more recycling boxes! Well done on winning your a refurbished iPad Rachel. If you have electrical items you need to get rid of, there's more info here.

Books in a library

Reading Well

Lots of us (young and old) have had times when we’ve struggled with problems like anxiety, depression or self-harm and there are books that can make a big difference in overcoming these problems. A team of health professionals and young people have made a selection of them available in our libraries for you to use if you need them.

You’ve probably heard that we’re having to reduce support for some bus services in Oxfordshire, and that some services will change or stop as a result. We’ve now heard back from most bus operators and you can find out what will happen to your service here

JOGLE 2016

Our firefighters are heroes. And they’ve recently done something extra special, cycling the whole way from John O’Groats to Lands End in support of the Firefighters Charity. You can read a full account of their 1000 mile journey, and it’s still possible to donate in support of their amazing achievement.

Sadly, we’ve had to make the decision to close our mobile libraries. But we know the difference a book can make. So could you volunteer to spare a little bit of time to drop off some books for someone like Edna? It’s a small thing to do but can mean the world to them. Find out more
