The former Government introduced a range of new change of use permitted development rights at the end of the last Parliament. Campaigners have called for reforms to the use class system amid concerns about proliferation of charity shops, hot food takeaways and loss of local pubs. This note explains these issues further.

That article obligates all EU Member States to provide France with aid and assistance, although it does not go so far as to confer a security commitment, akin to NATO's Article V. This paper looks briefly at Article 42(7) TEU and the implications for the UK.
