  Slim bins roll out
bins West Lothian Council is the latest Scottish council to reduce the size of grey (landfill) household bins in an effort to encourage more householders to recycle their waste. The process of replacing existing grey bins (landfill) with a new slim bin has started and will be rolled-out on a phased basis, with all areas receiving their new bin by the beginning of 2017. City of Edinburgh Council, Fife Council and Perth and Kinross Council have already introduced smaller bins. The change is designed to actively encourage residents to reduce the amount of waste being placed into grey (landfill) bins and to use more of the recycling facilities currently on offer.
