  Whitburn Cemetery vandalism
 
     

Police in West Lothian are asking for help from the public after 28 headstones were vandalised in Whitburn Cemetery. The incident happened during the afternoon of Sunday 17 July in the town's Cemetery on Manse Road. Community Constable Carol-Ann Wilson said: "The damage to the headstones is estimated to be in excess of £8,000." Anyone with any information is asked to contact: WhitburnBlackburnCPT@scotland.pnn.police.uk, anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or Police on 101.

  Upgraded tennis courts served up for Bathgate
 
   
  West Lothian’s budding Andy Murrays should take advantage of the superb new facilities at the revamped Kirkton Park Tennis Courts in Bathgate. The courts have recently undergone a £170,000 upgrade to replace the old blaise surface courts with a brand new all-season tarmac surface, with new floodlighting and fencing also installed.

  Tesco Bank Summer Reading Challenge Scotland  
   
 
Children who are taking part in the Summer Reading Challenge enjoyed a special event at Almondbank Library as part of the Tesco Bank Summer Reading Challenge Scotland recently.
Run by national charity The Reading Agency in partnership with Scotland's libraries and Tesco Bank, the challenge encourages children to read six books during the summer holidays, a time when children's literacy skills traditionally dip.

  Students set to receive SQA results  
   
 
Students across West Lothian will be receiving their Scottish Qualification Award (SQA) results on Tuesday 9 August.
Students are being encouraged not to panic if they don't receive the results that they expect.  West Lothian Council is encouraging them to get in touch if they need help and support with their next move.
