  Special event recognises the work of DEEP  

A special event was held at the Lanthorn Community Centre in Livingston, recently to celebrate the achievements of a local community group and its commitment to improving the environment for its community in the last decade. The group known as Dedridge Environment Ecology Project (DEEP) is winding up its activities as many of its key members feel that they have accomplished what they set out to achieve.

  Council to transfer land to Kirknewton CDT  
  West Lothian Council's Executive Committee has approved the community asset transfer of land to Kirknewton Community Development Trust (KCDT).  The land will be used to create a gateway art feature to the village.

  New Head Teacher at St. Columba's Primary School  

Fiona Smyth has been confirmed as Head Teacher at St Columba’s Primary School, Boghall.  Prior to being appointed to the senior post Fiona was the Acting Head Teacher. Fiona moved to West Lothian in 2015 to join the team at St Ninian’s Primary School in Livingston as Depute Head Teacher, progressing to St Columba’s Primary School as Acting Head Teacher earlier this year.

  Advice Shop’s support for people receiving Universal Credit  
  Local people who are experiencing difficulties due to low income are being offered confidential support to help them to manage their income and benefits. The support is tailored to individual needs and includes self-help packs, telephone support and one-to-one meetings. Prostate Cancer Support Group   Thurs 12 October, Ability Centre
The next meeting of the West Lothian Prostate Cancer Support Group will be held at 7pm on Thursday 12 October at West Lothian Ability Centre, Carmondean Centre Road, Livingston.
