A Reinvented Interior for Outdoor Enthusiasts
The third generation of the Jeep Compass 4xe introduces a bold new approach to design and functionality. Built in Melfi, Italy, this compact SUV now comes with a range of multi-energy powertrains, including mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric options. With a strong legacy behind it, the Compass has sold over 2.5 million units globally since its debut in 2006, becoming a key player in the C-SUV segment known for off-road capability and adventurous versatility.
Inside, the cabin of the new Compass 4xe has been redesigned to better suit the needs of outdoor lovers. Durable, practical materials dominate the interior, with rear seatbacks coated in scratch-resistant surfaces – ideal for pet owners or those frequently carrying gear. A light brown colour scheme was chosen for the upholstery, striking a balance between aesthetic appeal and dirt-hiding practicality.
Design That Blends Heritage and Performance
Visually, the Compass 4xe maintains signature Jeep styling cues such as the iconic seven-slot grille and trapezoidal wheel arches. These are paired with a reinforced body structure that not only honours the brand’s rugged heritage but also enhances off-road capabilities.
The 4xe variant, specifically designed for tougher terrains, features a raised suspension with an additional 10 mm of ground clearance. Modified bumpers further improve approach (27°), departure (31°), and breakover angles (16°), making it well-suited to navigate uneven trails. Underbody protection, a tow hook, and exclusive 19-inch wheels with taller sidewall tyres round off its trail-ready upgrades.
All-Electric Powertrain Exclusive to 4xe
Perhaps the most notable innovation lies beneath the surface. The all-wheel-drive Compass 4xe is available exclusively with a fully electric powertrain. Built on the Stellantis STLA Medium platform, the Compass offers electrified options only for its front-wheel-drive models, reserving AWD capability for the 4xe trim.
The 4xe is powered by two electric motors—one for each axle—delivering a combined output of 375 horsepower. This setup includes a rear motor specifically engineered for Jeep, giving it a 50-horsepower advantage over similar Stellantis models like the Peugeot 3008 and 5008. This extra boost ensures a more responsive off-road experience.
Power comes from a 96 kWh battery, which allows for a range of up to 600 kilometres. Charging is efficient too, with the battery capable of reaching 80% in just 32 minutes when connected to a 190 kW DC fast charger.
Modern Comfort Meets Rugged Utility
Inside the 4xe, Jeep has focused on practical luxury. The seats are covered in polyurethane – a material chosen for its toughness and easy cleaning – while the backs of the rear seats feature a scratch-proof coating. Rubber floor mats add to the vehicle’s rugged interior finish, reinforcing its role as a dependable companion for adventure-seekers.
